1455 is located in the heart of historic Winchester, VA. Each visiting writer is given a private room, with bath, wireless internet, and a writing desk. Rooms are considered the writer’s studio, although residents are welcome to use any of the common areas. Clean linens and towels are provided to writers.

In addition to the bedroom studios, there is a separate recreational area, formal dining room, and communal kitchen. Meals are the responsibility of each resident. Residents can pool for, or prepare meals together; group dinners are held in the dining room or garden, weather permitting. Local writers and artists are often invited to take part in these informal gatherings.
